The injured souls of Delk Road in Marietta are not judged, but motivated and aided in finding their way out of this lifestyle. Many having seen success and others still walking their road to a better life, one 34-year-old mother of two from Mississippi shared her story. After leaving her home in Mississippi to find a better life in Georgia she ended up living in a motel on Delk Road, one day her and her girls no longer had the money to live there. So, with a car full of belongings, she headed to The Table on Delk to look for resources and got into a program. When the program ended, The Table on Delk helped her find an apartment. A promising new beginning.
“We come to every event at the table because it’s so peaceful here with loving people that want to see you do better.” – The Table on Delk Anonymous Participant For the guests at The Table on Delk, it’s all about realizing that they are not defined by their past, that they are not just victims but victors in the making and it is in this that the fruits of this ministry are seen.
Our parish began an annual tradition this year—a set of commitments to forge a covenant with the Lord and the Catholic Community of St. Ann, fostering personal discipleship. In phase one, the focus has been on participation, being a prophet by our actions. In the following article we aim to highlight the significance of this journey and
the tangible outcomes of your dedication and actions as fruits of discipleship.
