Our Confirmation Program is Changing

The Archdiocese of Atlanta is moving Confirmation to the middle school years and encouraging a more family-centered approach to preparation.

As a result, we will now welcome rising 8th, 9th, and 10th grade students – who meet the preparation requirements – to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation in Spring 2027.

St. Ann’s Confirmation program

Our Confirmation program prepares youth and adults to receive the sacrament of Confirmation, deepening their knowledge of the faith and openness to God’s grace. Through this journey, we encourage each person to make the Catholic faith their own and to live it out by sharing the Gospel in daily life.

Confirmation Requirements

Confirmation Requirements – Year 1 and Year 2

1. 2027 Confirmation Sign-up

Please sign your teen up for 2027 Spring Confirmation here

2. Parish registration

You must be a registered parishioner at St. Ann’s

3. Baptismal Certificate

We must have your child’s Baptismal certificate, regardless of whether your child was baptised at St. Ann’s or not

4. At least 2 years of Faith Formation

5. Service Hours

We ask that each at least 10 hours of service are completed by all Year 2 students.

July 13-16, 2026: 5:30pm-9pm

July 20-23, 2026: 9:30am-1pm

8. Confirmation Retreat – Signup coming soon

One-Night Overnight Confirmation Retreat

Join us for a powerful overnight retreat experience from Saturday at 8:00 AM through Sunday at 6:00 PM, concluding with the St. Ann Life Teen Mass.

The retreat will be held at:

Dahlonega, GA 30533

We offer two opportunities to attend each year and confirmand need only to attend one retreat:

Fall Retreat – October 10-11. 2026
Winter Retreat – January 30-31, 2027

9. Parent Faith Formation (NEW)

Parents of Year 2 students are now required to complete six hours of Faith Formation through programs of their choice

Exemptions: Parents who are Catechists for Launch, Core Members for Edge or Life Teen, or parents who work at a Catholic school

We have plenty of options here at St. Ann’s but do encourage you to see about other opportunities around the diocese

If you are an adult seeking the sacrament of Confirmation, have been baptized and received your First Eucharist, please contact Adult Faith Formation Director Stephanie Holden.

If you are an adult who would like to begin your Catholic faith journey, please contact our OCI Coordinator Stephanie Holden.

OCI programs are available for adults, teens and children.
