High school missions

Please be sure to use the 'register here' button below. You must register through St. Ann, not the trip organizations.

Mission trips are among our teens' favorite activities. There are limited spots for each trip, which fill quickly. It is strongly recommended to register as soon as possible. Once spots are filled, a waitlist will be generated for each trip.

NOTE: A $200 nonrefundable deposit will be due at the time of registration.

Middle school mission

There is a home mission trip in the Atlanta area each year for the Edge program.

2024 dates: June 24-28

The Middle School home mission trip is open to current 6th, 7th, and 8th graders. We will be going to St. Joseph's Catholic School in Marietta and working on beautification around their campus. On Friday we will be heading to Dahlonega, GA for a fun day of tubing. We are very excited to be able to serve our community this summer!

The cost per teen is $175.

  • What takes place on a mission trip?

Typically projects include painting, drywall, construction projects, yard work, property clearing and caring for children/adults. After each day of work, there are evening programs where the teens dive into their faith. Each day provides teens with the opportunity to reflect on how they have seen God that day.

  • What does a typical day look like?

Most days begin with Mass and then we go to our worksites. Everyone returns in time for dinner and programming is directly after. Programming consists of worship, videos, talks and prayer.

  • How do I register my teen?

When you register your teen, you will make the $200 non-refundable deposit online. This payment secures your teen's spot on the trip. It also means that you are agreeing to pay the entire cost of the trip. Registration is first-come, first-served. There will be a waitlist if the trip fills.

  • What does the cost cover?

The total cost of the trip covers the registration fee, supplies/tools, rental cars, gas and a tshirt. We are more than happy to provide a cost breakdown for the trip if requested.

  • Do we have to pay the full amount?

No, you are required only to pay the deposit upon registration. You can pay the remaining amount out of pocket, but we encourage your teen to send out letters and donation forms (we will provide) requesting financial assistance for the trip.

  • Fundraising opportunities?

Teens can earn up to 15% of their total trip cost through fundraising opportunities.

    1.  Sunbelt Poinsettia sale (begins Oct. 16)

    2.  Apple Annie Arts & Craft Show (Dec. 1-2)

    3.  Prayer partner campaign (immediately)

  • Cancellations?

If your teen needs to drop out from the mission trip, the deposit and any raised funds for the trip are non-refundable and non-transferable. If your teen drops out within 30 days or less prior to the trip, you are responsible for the remaining balance.

  • Transportation?

Adult chaperones will be driving minivans to and from the mission trip. While there, these minivans will be used to transport teens to and from their team's worksite each day. Note: El Salvador trip requires a flight.

  • What is the housing situation?

Teens will bring an air mattress to sleep in a school classroom. Different arrangements may be made for El Salvador.

  • What if my teen has a food allergy?

Be sure to let us know about any allergies your teens may have. Often, we are able to make accommodations. That said, teens with food allergies often find it easier to bring their own food for the week. We will make sure to coordinate all of this with you.

  • Are mission trips only for St. Ann parishioners or Catholics?

While Catholic in nature, mission trips through St. Ann's are open to all regardless of religion. It is our belief that our God is one who calls to each and every one of his children. We take pride in being a community that is open, welcome, and hospitable to all. You do not need to be a registered parishioner or Catholic to attend a mission trip.

  • Does my teen need to bring any money?

If they would like to, but all meals and activities are covered. They are more than welcome to bring money for any gas station stops to and from, or for the camp store. The El Salvador trip will have different availability and arrangements.

Faith in the summer: Youth programs keep God relevant when school is out

Youth in the Life Teen program travel each summer to assist communities in need through work projects and service. Recent destinations include West Virginia, Kentucky, and Ohio. There is also a home mission trip in the Atlanta area each year for the EDGE program.

Pope Francis emphasizes the power of young people in the Church and how vital it is for them to take an active role in their faith. So, it comes as no surprise that St. Ann’s youth ministries continue to host events throughout the summer, encouraging teen parishioners to meet Christ in new ways, reminding them that their faith shouldn’t just align with the school year.
