St. Ann's Council of Catholic Women

Guided by faith, prayer, knowledge and concern, the St. Ann's Council of Catholic Women (SACCW) helps build St. Ann's community through friendship, spiritual reflection, mutual support and support to those in need. Read on to learn more about the SACCW and all the events and programs facilitated by our members. All women of the parish are invited!

St. Ann’s Women’s Council is a part of the Atlanta Archdiocesan Council of Catholic Women (AACCW). By archdiocesan decree, all women in the archdiocese are automatically included.

One Council, Three Guilds
At St. Ann, there are three groups that gather to promote fellowship through prayer and service to the community as well as social activities for women of the parish.

Day Guild
•First Tuesday, September-May, 9:30am in Nolan Hall

Mothers' Guild
•First Friday, September-May, 9:30am in Nolan Hall

Spanish Guild:
•First Thursday, September-May, 7:00pm in La Salette Hall

The three groups of the SACCW facilitate a variety of activities, including service projects, parish-wide women's prayer events, a trips and tours program, and much more. The SACCW manages two major fundraisers each year, the Apple Annie arts & crafts show and the parish garage sale. With the proceeds from these events, the SACCW has been able to disburse thousands of dollars to several local charitable organizations, give teen awards for post high school studies, and provide support to various parish projects. Click HERE to read a list of the 2019 charitable disbursements.

trips and lunches

Trips and Lunches is a combination of adventure fun, and learning. On the second Tuesday of the month, we have an adventure somewhere in our area. We have visited a variety of venues, including the Mercedes-Benz Stadium, museums, wineries, beautiful homes of the South and historic spots. It's a special day of camaraderie for women (and sometimes even our husbands!) to share. Contact Joanne Balen or Eileen Krutick for more information.

St. Ann's Woman of the Year

The 2019 Woman of the Year is Juanita Alvarez. We thank Juanita for being a beautiful vessel of God’s love in all that she does. She was honored along with the other women representing each archdiocesan parish at a Mass celebrated by Archbishop Gregory earlier this year.

Nominations for the 2020 Woman of the Year will open in October. All women of the parish are eligible, and the selection process is facilitated by the SACCW. Check back here and on the parish communication platforms for details as the nomination period approaches.
