Adopt-A-Family supports those in need

by teaming with various agencies and programs.

Classic City High School (Athens)

A school serving students who do not thrive in a large high school environment. Eighteen teens have been identified who would not have any gifts for Christmas and whose families struggle to keep food on the table.

Good Shepherd Services (Chamblee)

This organization serves refugees and immigrants regardless of ethnicity, gender or religious beliefs and provides programs that bring hope, restore dignity and improve life. Donors provide food and gifts for families and the elderly.

LaBelle Elementary School (Marietta)

This school, which partners with St. Ann’s Sharing our Blessings Ministry for student food assistance during the year, requests board games, books and small fleece throws for its students.

Devereux (Kennesaw)

For more than 40 years, Devereux has provided opportunities for children, adolescents and young adults struggling with emotional and behavioral health challenges. Donors provide gift cards for foster care children who are supported by the center.

St. Clement Catholic Church (Calhoun)

St. Ann partners with other St. Vincent de Paul Society conferences in areas where the need is great, such as St. Clement parish. Donors provide food and gifts for families.

Our Lady of La Salette Catholic Church (Canton)

St. Ann donors provide gifts for families in need in partnership with another St. Vincent de Paul Society conference.

Aspire Academy (formerly HAVEN)

This school serves students with emotional and behavioral disorders that require therapeutic interventions due to the severity of one or more of the characteristics of their disability.

Mercy Recuperative Care (Atlanta)

Homeless men and women who have been hospitalized stay at this facility for up to 30 days while they recuperate. Mercy Care’s staff provides medical support and helps in housing placement. Donors provide gifts.

Mercy Care Rapid Rehousing

This unit of Mercy Care places those who were in recuperative care into housing rather than returning to the streets. Clothing, and household items are needed for their new homes.

Circle Cobb

This organization works to reduce poverty in Cobb County by offering classes in financial literacy and life skills allowing participants to set and achieve goals over an 18-month period. St. Ann’s SVDP currently provides a meal each month during their meeting as well as volunteers who mentor and support the families through the process. We are adopting the families in the program providing food and gifts while they focus on breaking through the barrier of poverty and become self-sufficient.

Holy Cross Catholic Church (Decatur)

We are partnering with the Holy Cross SVDP Society to help 20 families they are currently assisting with food and gifts for Christmas.

Cobb Kids
There are currently 80 unsheltered families living in their cars or in hotels and doing their best to keep their children in school. St. Ann has partnered with a Cobb County social worker to help 20 of these families by supplying small gifts and gift cards.

Helping Haitians at Christmas

We are reaching out internationally parish in Haiti.
Each year Fr. La Salette Fr. Mame organizes a special Christmas dinner for the senior citizens in the region. He recruits the youth of the area to plan and serve the Christmas meal, teaching them to have a servant’s heart and to respect their elders. Donations of $50 or $100 will allow the youth of the parish to provide a Christmas celebration and dinner for the senior members of the local community.

St. Thomas the Apostle (Smyrna)

This year our preschool families will provide a gift for each of 100 children that the St. Thomas SVDP Society assisted in the past year. The parish is planning a Christmas party for the children where the gifts will be distributed.

St. Vincent de Paul (St. Ann)

Food and gifts are provided for some of the folks we are currently assisting.
