Cub Scouts
Who We Are & What We Do
Cub Scouts is a family-centered ministry that brings parents and children together for adventure, learning, and fun! Through hands-on activities like games, projects, skits, songs, outdoor adventures, and service projects, our scouts develop confidence, teamwork, and leadership skills. More than just a program, Cub Scouts is a journey of growth, achievement, and cherished family memories.
Why We Exist
Cub Scouts provides a strong foundation for character development, leadership, and faith in action. Rooted in the values of the Scout Oath and Law, we encourage young people to explore the world around them, serve their community, and grow into responsible, faith-filled individuals. By engaging families in this journey, we foster bonds that last a lifetime.
Who We Serve
We welcome boys and girls from Kindergarten through 5th grade, offering them a fun and enriching experience filled with adventure. In 2025, our scouts will participate in exciting events such as Fall Family Camping, Spring Family Camping, the Pinewood Derby, the Blue & Gold Banquet, and a special camping trip at Talladega Speedway! Whether exploring the outdoors or building their own race cars, our scouts learn valuable life lessons along the way.
Volunteer Opportunities
Our program thrives on the support of parents, grandparents, and former scouts who give their time to help make scouting a meaningful experience. Opportunities to serve include:
- Activity Volunteers – Assist with hands-on projects, games, and events.
- Event Presenters – Share special skills or knowledge with the scouts.
- Pack Leadership Roles – Help guide our pack by mentoring young scouts and assisting with planning and organization. Whether you can help at a single event or take on a leadership role, we welcome your support!
Special Requirements
All adult leaders must complete BSA Youth Protection Training, leader-specific training, an application with a background check, and registration with the BSA. Additionally, volunteers must complete the Archdiocesan safe environment VIRTUS training and background check to ensure a safe and faith-filled environment for our youth.
