“Living our vocation to be protectors of God’s handiwork is essential to a life of virtue; it is not an optional or a secondary aspect of our Christian experience.”
— Laudato Si’, §217
Why Zero Waste?
Inspired by Pope Francis’s encyclical Laudato Si’, our parish is embracing Zero Waste as a concrete way to care for our common home. As Laudato Si’ reminds us, the Earth “cries out to us because of the harm we have inflicted on her” (§2). As stewards of creation, we are called to respond—not only with words, but through action.
Zero Waste is more than a sustainability practice; it is a way to live our faith with love, responsibility, and reverence for all of God’s creation.
