Our mission in Life Teen is to lead teens closer to Christ.
And we have been able to do this at St. Ann's over the past twenty years because of Catholic adults responding to their baptismal call as Core members.

Very simply, a Core member's job is to share Jesus Christ with teens. You don't have to be an expert on Scripture and you don't need to have a Theology degree. Your responsibility is prayer, loving teenagers, and showing teens that they are valued and loved by God.

We do ask all prospective Core members to take a look at this Core Covenant. This document is a helpful one if you are discerning Core Team as a possibility.

Meet Our Core

As a recent college graduate from Benedictine College, I moved from the Sunflower State of Kansas to the beautiful state of Georgia. I work on the Events Team at Life Teen, and I am loving it! You can usually find me laughing loudly with coffee in hand. My family is responsible for my crazy love of baseball and music. I love to meet new people, enjoy the little things, and I'm always down for a dance party. St. Ann’s has been such a blessing since my move here, and I am extremely excited to be a part of the Core Team!!

My name is Chris Bertrand, and I love spending time with my wife and three daughters. I grew up in Ireland, was in the Peace Corps in Costa Rica and have lived and managed companies in the US, Latin America, and Europe. I studied Biology at the University of San Diego where I met my lovely wife, Kathleen. We have been active in many St. Ann's ministries and I have led retreats, mission trips and worked with teen faith formation. I currently serve on the Board of Directors for Catholic World Mission and I have a passion for Sports, Sports and more Sports!

I grew up in Roswell and was active in Saint Ann’s Life Teen. This past year, I graduated from the University of Georgia and was involved in some nondenominational organizations and the Catholic Center. My constant dialogue with students of differing beliefs encouraged me to dive deeper into God’s word. I currently am employed at State Farm as an agent aspirant. Since Life Teen was such an integral part of my life in high school, I am so excited to help keep the tradition alive.

Born and raised in Atlanta, I grew up going to All Saints Catholic Church and I'm a graduate of St. Pius and Auburn University. I work in marketing in the homebuilding industry and absolutely love it. I'm a big sports fan and enjoy cheering on my Tigers and Falcons. On the weekends, you can find me traveling (probably the beach), trying new restaurants (definitely ordering dessert), and spending time with family and friends.

Hey there! My name is Greg Camacho. I was a former football coach at Hiram High School and also a former Youth Minister at Transfiguration. I am currently a Fire Fighter EMT and will be a nursing student starting this fall at Gwinnett Tech. I love football, hiking, traveling, and exercising.

Hi my name's Robbie! I'm originally from Philadelphia, but have lived in Marietta the majority of my life. Growing up, I participated in music ministry at Saint Peter Chanel in Roswell and went to Blessed Trinity High School. Currently, I am studying psychology at Kennesaw State University. I enjoy playing soccer, hiking, and theater.

My name is Kirsten Cottrill, and I am a graduate student at Emory University seeking my PhD in pharmacological science. I grew up in Tallahassee, FL, with two little brothers and a ton of dogs and cats. I went to Mercer University for my undergraduate career and was very involved in the Catholic retreat Awakening, which is where I met my husband Ryan Cottrill. I was a Core member at St. Catherine of Sienna in Kennesaw for a year and a half before moving over to St. Ann's.

I am so excited to be on the Core team here at St. Ann’s! This church has been a true blessing to me and my family, and I am so happy to give back to a program that gave me so much. I was active in Life Teen until I began my undergraduate education at Furman University. Now, I am back in Atlanta at Georgia State University for my Master of Science in Communication Sciences and Disorders. I love to run and sing and am extremely outgoing...can’t wait to meet all of you:)

Originally from New York, my family and I moved to Cobb County in 1986 and St. Ann’s became our new parish. In 1992, I was part of Life Teen when it first began. The Life Teen program had a tremendous impact on my life especially during my high school years and as I entered the military. After leaving the Army, I graduated from Kennesaw State University and currently work as a Sales Executive at ADP. I live in Woodstock with my wife and four children and I’m happy to be part of Life Teen once more to help give back to a program that gave me so much.

A graduate of College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, MA, Tim Farley moved from his hometown of Simsbury, Connecticut to Georgia in the early 1990’s where he and his wife, Colleen, found their spiritual home at St. Ann. The Farleys have four children who have all been raised at St. Ann. Tim has enjoyed his involvement with Edge and Life Teen over the years, and is now excited to be part of the Core Team. Tim is a Senior Director at Cushman Wakefield and serves on the Board of Feeding The Homeless Project, Inc. Tim likes sports of all kinds, and especially enjoys time with his family.

I grew up in Stone Mountain where I was active in my parish teen program and St. Pius' campus ministry. I'm a Ramblin' Wreck and I am passionate about Core and love spending time with my three teenage kids and their friends through Edge and Life Teen. My lovely wife, Kathleen, is president of the Life Teen board and we've always been active in St. Ann's ministries from S.A.F.E. to Renew to Promise Keepers and pre-Cana. But Life Teen really has been my home for a few years now and I see this ministry affecting lives in such a powerful way. Hopefully I'll keep doing this even after my kids are through the program because I feel I get more out of this than I put into it.

My family moved to GA in the late 70’s and we attended All Saints and as a teen I always longed for youth ministry but it didn’t exist back then. When Todd and I got married in 1992 and started at St. Ann’s, it wasn’t long before Life Teen emerged. We have been here ever since and have been involved in Life Teen in some capacity at St Ann’s and with national LT ever since. We’ve had 3 children go thru Life Teen and have been on core for 6 years. I love love love college football and my beloved Auburn Tigers! I graduated from Auburn in Marketing and worked in the software industry prior to being a stay-at-home mom. If you don’t see me at church working in the preschool or in the finance office, you’ll catch me watching football! If you’ve ever thought about being on Core, do it! You won’t regret a minute of it!!

Grew up in Dunwoody and went to Georgia Tech. Upon graduation, with a BS in Building Construction, was commissioned as an officer in the United States Air Force and served for two years. Entered the homebuilding industry where I began and ended my career after 25 years and currently working for Life Teen Inc. After meeting Denise, now my wife and fellow Core member, in 7th grade I was finally successful in getting her to go on a date after college. We have been married for 26 blissful years and have 3 children, Matt, Maddie and Noah.

Originally from New York, have been in Georgia and at St. Ann for 20 years. I am retired from IBM. Have been involved with Life Teen since 2001. I am a past Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus, member of Faith Sharers ministry and member of their retreat team. I am also a member of the Adult Mission Ministry, a Mass Sacristan and EM.

Peruvian born and raised, surrounded by priests, nuns and missionaries, I have enjoyed the recent years with Life Teen, going on retreats, missions and other places with the teens. I am a married father with 2 daughters in college and a son in the Edge Program. My job as a project manager for Cisco system frequently brings me out of town, but in my spare time, you can find me helping my wife with her guest book business and cheering at our kids’ sporting events.

Having been on Core for quite a while now, Emma runs the Teen Worship Band at St. Ann. When not at St. Ann, Emma teaches 9th grade Theology at Cristo Rey Atlanta Jesuit High School. In her free time, she volunteers as a young professional board member at the Georgia SPCA. Emma is an alumni of the Life Teen Program at St. Ann and is grateful for the ability to give back to a program that launched her faith journey!

Moved from Chicago to Georgia. Was married for 37 years to a wonderful man, then on July 10, 2014 God knocked on my door and told me that he needed another angel. I have been a member of the church for a long time where I am a Eucharistic minister, a Parish Ambassador, a Case worker for St. Vincent DePaul and was a Girl Scout leader for 35 years. I joined Core a while ago and have come to know that this is where God wants me to be.

My name is Jean Parker. I have been married 31 years and have three outstanding adult children. I am a private tutor specializing in teaching dyslexic students. I have a private practice in East Cobb and am associated with The Walker School and Springmont.

Originally from South Louisiana, my family and I moved for the second time to St. Ann’s and Cobb County in 1999. In the early 90’s we were here when Life Teen first began. We always knew we wanted to be part of this wonderful catholic community so when we moved back to Georgia it was an easy choice. My husband and I have a residential remodeling business called GreatHouse and include many parishioners as our clients. I live in Roswell with my husband and three children who all grew up at St. Ann’s beginning with the preschool program. I love to play tennis, travel especially with family, and enjoy being active and watching sports! I’m super excited to be joining Life Teen Core.

I am originally from Philadelphia and am a graduate of Saint Joseph’s University. I worked in New York City and in 2002, we moved to Atlanta and called St. Ann’s our spiritual home. We have three children, Timmy and Mattie who are off at college (Virginia Tech and Georgia Tech respectively) and Bobby, who is at Blessed Trinity, all have all been raised at St. Ann’s. I have been involved with PSR, Edge and Alpha over the years, and am excited to be a new member of the Core Team. Currently, I am a Principal Consultant with LGR Consulting providing HR services and serve on the Board of Second Helpings Atlanta, a food rescue non-profit. I love to cook for and spend time with my family and be outdoors hiking and kayaking.

I’m part of the music ministry here at St. Ann and find most of my strength, joy and peace by encountering Jesus in music (either through making it, praying through it or listening to it). I love old, blind, three-legged dogs, LSU football, Buddy Guy and the AP comma. I’m an autism aunt and the godmother to two of my beautiful nieces and one of my cuddly nephews. When I grow up, I want to be one of those people who can make dinner with whatever happens to be in the fridge.

I grew up in Deerfield Beach, Florida and attended college at Florida International University in Miami. I moved to Atlanta in 1996 and never left. Mary and I have been married for 20 years and our son Andrew has been attending St. Ann's since 2012 and is now a Leader in Life Teen. We previously attended St. Jude's in Dunwoody where I went through RCIA. We began attending St. Ann's and I taught Sunday school for a couple of years to elementary aged children. After attending the Life Teen Mass for a couple of years and helping with the cooking teams I decided to join the Core program after I saw how great this program is for the teens. I love to travel, enjoy the ocean, playing golf and being a part of the Roswell High School Lacrosse program.

I have been on Core at St. Ann's for a few years now but have been serving youth for over 10 years. I was born and raised in Norcross, GA and moved to Marietta and LOVE this area! I love being with the next generation of our church-I strongly believe we can learn a lot from them and that they will single handedly change the world! I love ALL things Auburn and anything that is orange and blue. Here are a few of my other favorite things: reading, the beach, my family, going on adventures with friends, sunsets, Frank Sinatra music, Blue Bloods (and a million other TV shows!), and laughing. I’m so grateful that God keeps calling me to youth ministry and that I get to be inspired by some of the best young people I know!

Hi. My name is Sasha Santander. Before serving our High Schoolers, I served as a middle school Edge Core member for 5 years. I am married to Xavier who is also a Core member and we have three amazing children and one wonderful daughter in law. Our family loves our faith very much and are committed to walking with others and leading them into a deeper relationship with Christ so that they may realize their potential as His disciples.

Xavier has been on Core for several years. He is married to Sasha, who is on the Core team as well. He’s the father of three with his youngest, Bella, in her senior year of High School and active in the program.

Hello, my name is Chris and I am a Civil Engineer. I graduated from Blessed Trinity High School in 2012, and then attended Virginia Tech. I really enjoyed being a teen in the Life Teen program years ago, so I decided that I would like to help give back to it as a Core member. Some of my hobbies include Scuba Diving, Bowling and Barbequing.

Jose hopes to serve God by serving his wife and three kids first and foremost. Then as he looks out to the community he asks God the Father to guide Him in discerning where else he is needed to serve. Inspired by God's love, mercy and grace throughout his journey, he hopes to inspire others to live life to their full potential.

Born and raised in Marietta, I have gone to St. Ann's my entire life and was super involved in Life Teen throughout high school. I am the second of five (see the picture for the youngest). I graduated from Georgia Tech in May 2018 with a degree in Industrial & Systems Engineering and now work for a management and technology consulting firm in Atlanta called CapTech. I'm very excited to be giving back on the other side of Life Teen as a Core Member!

I would describe myself as someone with a childlike spirit who loves to have fun and soak up the joys of life. I enjoy many hobbies including Frisbee, Soccer, Swimming basically almost any sport. I currently play on a Whiffleball team and used to play in a Dart League. I grew up in NC so I am a big Tar Heel Fan for College Basketball and of course in football I root for the East Carolina Pirates (ECU Alumni). I love Life Teen and look forward to seeing the teens who inspire me every week. I pray that I will be the mentor and encourager they need to grow closer to Christ and their faith: “Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old, he will never depart from it" -Proverbs 22:6

Greg has been a Core member with Edge (the middle schoolers) for quite a while now and is going into his second year as a Core member with Life Teen. Greg is a User Experience Designer for software, an artist and occasionally has been seen as Santa. I love working with teens and watching them grow in their faith. As a convert to Catholicism as an adult, I know the value of having faith when you are young. Greg has a beautiful wife of over 40 years, 2 wonderful daughters and a new granddaughter.
