Music Ministry & A/V

Music at the Masses...

Overall, the music at Saint Ann's leans to the more contemporary side, but we treasure traditional hymns and texts as well. Assembly singing is our primary goal, which determines virtually all of our song selections as well as the key in which it is sung/played. Ensembles range from a full band and choir to a single piano and vocalist. (see below)

Joining the music ministry...

If you are interested in joining the music ministry as a singer or instrumentalist, you just need to contact Ed Bolduc (Director of Music) This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. or Graham Kuhn This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. to set up an appointment.
After a simple audition we can discuss with you how you might be able to add your voice or instrument to the weekend liturgies.
Singers do not need to be able to read music. Guitarists should be comfortable reading chords. Pianists must be able to read keyboard scores.

Rehearsals
Singers and instrumentalists are invited and scheduled to sing via Planning Center Online. All scheduled singers and instrumentalists rehearse the 1st and 3rd Wednesdays of the month from 7-8:30 in the music room. All scheduled musicians should arrive 30 minutes prior to Mass.

Audio-Visual at the Masses...

Each Mass in the church (weekends) requires at least one person, sometimes two in the AV booth.

Video: We currently project all of our worship aids on the main screens and in the Narthex using ProPresenter.
Lighting: We utilize different light settings throughout the liturgy, as well as during special events like baptisms, videos, etc.
Audio: A separate soundboard operator is essential for liturgies with large ensembles providing music.
Setup/Tear down: Before and after liturgies with larger ensembles there is a process of setting up and tearing down all of the necessary equipment.
